ESOL Beginning I/II 


In this course, students will learn the following:

  • English alphabet along with the pronunciation of each letter.
  • Numbers in English.
  • Personal Pronouns along with the appropriate use and conjugation of the verb “to be.”
  • Question Words/Forming Questions.
  • Possessive Adjectives.
  • Definite and Indefinite Articles using English vocabulary.
  • English Prepositions.
  • Singular/Plural Nouns
  • Family Vocabulary
  • English Vocabulary: Health, Around Town, Shopping, Money, Work, Daily Living, Leisure
  • Simple Present Verb Conjugation.
  • Present Continuous Verb Conjugation.
  • Simple Past Verb Conjugation.
  • Simple Future Verb Conjugation.
  • How Many? /How Much? - There is/There are.
  • Basic Listening, Writing, and Reading Comprehension.
ESOL Beginning II is a non-credit level to mid-beginning high level English with an emphasis on negotiating daily activities and work activities with continued focus on acquiring beginning level grammatical patterns. Equal emphasis and practice with reading, writing, listening and speaking to reinforce language form and function.
